On being dads

Teachers like to say that parents are a child’s first teacher. If this frightens you, it should.  That idea scared the hell out of us.  One day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time, we learned to seek teachable moments, and make the best of them.  It's not always easy, but it is the best job in the world.  If you see us, we are usually smiling. Here you can follow along as we follow our own path of child development....or  just check in from time to time and see what our favorite twins are up to =)

Somewhere between "congratulations, you are now the parents of twins," and "are we raising them properly?" we realized that we are NOT raising our children...they are raising us.  We are lucky to have two of the most easygoing children on the planet - usually.  There are the random tantrums, and occasional tears, but most days are a lot of fun and hard work. From digging up worms to watching out for bears, our boys find meaning in the tiniest of experiences.  Like I said...raising dads.

You may have found us in a park, on the beach, taking a nature walk, or playing a game...but you might not have asked or cared about why we are two dads with twins.  The secret is... it doesn't matter.  This space is dedicated to the two awesomest kids in the world.
